Senior Backend Engineer

About the Role
We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to build and scale the infrastructure powering Queue's real-time AI platform. You'll work on low-latency APIs, event-driven architectures, data pipelines, and distributed systems that support millions of requests. Working closely with AI, product, and infrastructure teams, you'll help create reliable systems that enable developers to build, deploy, and run AI agents with confidence.
Responsibilities
Design and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
Build event-driven systems and real-time data pipelines.
Improve system reliability, observability, and performance.
Collaborate with AI and product teams to support new platform capabilities.
Optimize infrastructure for scale, efficiency, and low latency.
Contribute to architecture decisions and engineering best practices.
Requirements
5+ years of backend engineering experience.
Strong proficiency in Go, Rust, or Node.js.
Experience with distributed systems, messaging systems, and cloud infrastructure.
Familiarity with Kafka, AWS, or GCP.
Strong understanding of performance, scalability, and reliability.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment.
